“Irrashimase! ” (meaning ‘Welcome’ in Japanese), we were warmly greeted by the staff in the restaurant. Located on the 2nd floor of the Revenue House building at Novena, we entered an interesting Japanese village the minute we stepped in the restaurant.
A polite and kind waiter came by and gave us brief intro on how things work here at the village. Each customer was given a plastic cup to hold the items you wish to order. The items were written on “ice-cream” sticks with a code number and you choose one stick for one order you pick. Interesting concept! The items are displayed and beside each item, there is an ice-cream stick which you pick up if you wish to order. Except for the sushi which you can just pick up from the sushi belt and bring it back to your table, for all other dishes like the cooked food or live sashimi or teppanyaki items, you have to order it via the “ice-cream” stick style! The beverages were also quite interesting. There are many variety of ice-cream floats concoctions and fruit juices.
Our choice for the evening were lots of salmon sushi and orders of "ice-cream" sticks for the fried tofu, yakitori sticks and also a pot of salmon fish head!! It was a sumptuous and appetizing meal indeed. Look at what we had ! Yum yum... Best of all, the price was reasonable and food was good. So go check it out!
