Sun with Moon Japanese Dining & Cafe

This time we visited the Sun with Moon Japanese Dining & Cafe at Wheelock Place. This was our second visit here. I would recommend more visits to the place to try out the other stuff! Because as I would exclaim: its quality food they serve there! The Japanese food served is simply extraordinary faire!

Ted and me ordered the ala-carte mixed yakitori set to share. The way the dish was served dismayed us! The yakitori sticks were actually served pinned on a baked sweet potato! This dish was quite the usual but the presentation of the palate was what scored.

Ted ordered the salmon tea rice set to complement the yakitori sticks. The serving was just nice for one person. The salmon was tender and fresh. Rice was well cooked. The tea soup was another worth complementing! Having soup served in a little teapot is not the usual soup you would expect. But this scored again for its innovativeness and as well as the fragrant tea soup! Mind you, its NOT your usual cup of soup. You have to taste for yourself to know the difference!

For my choice, I ordered the tender pork rice set made from belly pork specially flown in. Ooohh... what tender pork slices. The rice don was served with a nice yellow egg york which I gulped down in one mouthful! (see the picture above) Felt a little regretful about not mixing the egg york with the rice. Ha if you get the chance to order this, you may want to think twice and make sure you dont end up like me gulping down that lovely irresistible yoke down before mixing it up with the rice !
